One april early morning
on the twenty first day
at the window pane of my mind
etched against its opaque surface
an outline of a familiar face
I can make out the faint smile
sweet and sharp
stabbing at my forgetting heart
those eyes
brotherly
begging me to remember
for the past becomes present
the pain of loss painted
on a canvass of longing
for a return that will never happen
yet ..
in that dream-like moment
a gentle gust of happiness
soothe the agony of passing
and that face
now melting away
into the shadow of memories
with it the smile
